The topographic map set of Cambodia includes Kardamon Mountains maps, Damrey Mountains maps, Dangrek maps and Phnom Aral maps. You will also find here Mekong maps, Son maps, Kong maps, Sraepok maps, Parong maps, Chloung maps and maps of the lake Tonle Sa. The set of Cambodia contains as well Angkor maps, Phnom Penh maps, Kamponchgthom maps, Krache maps, Mondulkiri Province maps, Sihanoukville maps and Battambang maps.

Cambodia is situated in South-East Asia, in the south of the Indochina Peninsula. Cambodia shares its borders with Thailand in the west and north-west, Laos in the north and Vietnam in the east and south-east. The country is washed by the Gulf of Thailand.

Mountains. Most of the country (about 75 per cent) is covered by mountains that are not higher than 100 m above the sea level. The only exceptions are the Kardamon Mountains (1,813 m), their south-eastern part - the Damrey Mountains (Elephant Mountains) (500-1,000 m high) - and Mount Dangrek (500 m) along the border with Thailand. The highest mountain in Cambodia is Phnom Aral, 1,813 m.

Rivers. The Mekong is Cambodia's largest river, with its tributaries Son, Kong, Sraepok, Parong, Chloung and Te.

Lakes. Tonle Sap is a lake in Cambodia, the largest reservoir on the Indochinese Peninsula. For most of the year, the lake is relatively small (about 2,700 sq km) and is not more than a meter deep. But during the rain season, when the Tonle Sap River overflows, the area of the lake reaches 16 000 sq km and its depth is 9 m, which causes flooding in the neighbouring fields and woods.

National parks. The national parks of Cambodia include the Riem and Angkor national parks.

Sightseeing. The ancient capital of Angkor is the main attraction country, which has become a place of pilgrimage for thousands of tourists. Angkor is a complex of religious buildings in the 12 cent., located in the jungles of Cambodia. The most famous sight in this ensemble is the Angkor temple. Angkor Wat is the biggest cult building in the world (its area is about 81 hectares).

Phnom Penh is Cambodia's capital city, located west of the confluence of the Mekong and Tonle Sap rivers. Phnom Penh is the largest city and the center of its social, cultural and economic activities.

The Roluos complex is another attraction that lies about 10 km from Siem Reap; it is one of the first Khmer capitals built by Jayavarman II under the name of Hariharalaya.

The City of Kamponchgthom (Kampong-Cham) is the third largest city and capital of Cambodia, the same province, a major trading port and transportation hub and the center of rubber plantations.

Krache (Krate) is a tiny town on the Mekong River, a beautiful place with a relaxing atmosphere.

The Mondulkiri Province lies in the extreme east. The area is famous for its beautiful scenery, a diversity of distinct ethnic minorities, its green forests and cold-water rivers with a large number of waterfalls.

South-west of Phnom Penh lies a long string of mountain ranges, known as Kravan (the Kardamon Mountains) and the Damrey Mountains (the Elephant Mountains). The mountain ridges rise above the plains as if they protected the hinterlands of Cambodia from the outside world.

Sihanoukville is the most famous seaside resort in Cambodia and the country's main port.

Battambang is the second largest city in Cambodia. A rapidly developing trade and transport center, Battambang retains its charm of the colonial times. The main sights include the old colonial French quarter on the bank of the river.

Tourism.

Since tourism is only beginning to develop in Cambodia, the only entertainment in the country is tours and sightseeing.

Climate. Cambodia has a tropical monsoon humid and hot climate. The temperature varies with the season, ranging from +10°C to +38°C. In summer, there are humid south-west monsoon winds here, coming from the Gulf of Thailand and Indian Ocean. September and October are the most humid months in Cambodia. During this period, average temperatures range from +26°C to +32°C. The maximum temperature in April and May is + 35°C. In winter (November to March), there are dry north-eastern monsoon winds. January and February are the driest months. Average temperatures range from +22°C to +26°C.
