Nokia cooperates with Oracle

Nokia has signed an agreement under which the software developer Oracle has access to the map data. Users, companies and organizations can download Nokia maps, which will be integrated into the application of American concern.

Nokia is taking another step toward the expansion of its navigation and mapping services. In recent years the smartphone manufacturer is confidently gaining market of electronic maps, where Google is still the leader.

Let us recall that originally Finnish company Nokia has specialized in the field of car navigation. After having purchased U.S. Navteq company in 2007 that specialized in geographic information systems and digital maps, the management starts to develop maps for mobile devices, including smart phones based on Windows Phone.

Cooperation with the software company offers access for Nokia to a qualitatively new audience segment - corporate customers. Experts believe that this is one of the most effective way for Nokia to improve its level of competitiveness.
