Garmin co-operates with MetriGear

Garmin Company a GPS producer, has announced the purchase of the company MetriGear in order to expand its own line of solutions for cyclists.

MetriGear is located in legendary Silicon Valley and develops devices for athletes-cyclists. For its innovative products, the company has been awarded with the prestigious award «Best of Show» within the exhibition Interbike 2009.

One of the newest developments of the company is Vector sensor, designed to determine the effectiveness of training for athletes. The device can be easily attached to the bike and it measures the strength of pedaling.

Thus, by acquiring MetriGear, Garmin also plans to expand the range of GPS solutions for cycling sportsmen, which will bring together both the ideas and innovations of MetriGear. In addition, Garmin experts plan to proceed with the development of common projects.
