Google Maps added three-dimensional maps of Israel cities
Google technicians added 3D maps of the dozen of Israel cities.
Back in April 2012 Google developers combined online maps with images of Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Haifa, made by Google Street View. Since then, users can make virtual stroll through the streets of Israeli cities.
While implementing the project, special attention was paid to safety, as the authorities feared that Israel's virtual maps can be used by terrorists. Therefore important objects, people's faces and identification numbers of the vehicle caught in the cameras were later retouched on the maps.
The authorities have lifted the ban on shooting, but reserved the right to re-touch some maps with important building and facilities. This allowed Google to update the map of Israel. Now users of the famous map service can travel through the streets of dozens of Israeli cities, including Eilat, Ashkelon, RishonLezion, Beer-Sheva, Nazareth, Sderot, Ashdod, Netanya.
