100 000 new tourist routes on Google Maps

Now users of Google Earth can plan a vacation or holiday trip with one of the 100,000 routes and places of interest in 200 countries. Updated maps can be downloaded on computers or mobile devices based on iOS and Android.

Mapping service offers itineraries with a demonstration of three-dimensional images and broadcast notes from the encyclopedia Wikipedia. One of the most important feature in creating maps and routes is photos added by users that provide the most complete picture of the terrain. About 1 million photos have been already uploaded.

According to the developers, the virtual guide will also tell you about the sights, which are located close to the places you intend to visit.

Among other updates we can single out maps of the Grand Canyon with panoramic images (about 9500 photos) that cover 120 km of roads.

In 2012 Google Inc. worked on improving the technology WebGL, which allows you to view three-dimensional maps without installing additional software. Maps GL Maps show buildings in 3D and can view objects from different angles, including from above.
