Train with GPS
GPS-enabled bicycle computers become an essential tool very quickly for anyone who likes to ride a bicycle. For the last three or four years, there has been a real technological breakthrough in this field. Nowadays, there are a number of companies at the market, which produce similar devices, but we have to recognize that Garmin is the leading producer.
Many people wonder why anyone would actually need a GPS navigator for trips like that. Even if you stay within the limits of the town and you do not explore forest parks unknown to you, a GPS device can strongly help you in your training.
Here are some tips for using it:
1. Download and install the Garmin training center.
2. Register at http://www.motionbased.com/. This is a file exchange network and a log. You can upload the data from your navigator there and then view them in any form you wish with Google Earth or Google Maps.
3. Create your own course. Improve your performance on the routes you have created and other routes.
4. Analyse the data you have received.
5. Use the maps to the max.
As you see, GPS makes your training more exciting and informative.Digital cartography and GPS navigation 23-09-2008
